richmond-upon-thames

on my second day in london, armed with my oyster card [highly recommended for anyone traveling around london], i rode the underground's district line to the end: the village of richmond-upon-thames. this was another recommendation from my lonely planet guide. i loosely followed their recommendations, wending my way through the town, then following the thames river path [pictured [and 'picturesque'] left] to richmond park, before returning to the town.

the current was roaring and i tried in vain to capture it in this photo...

some great, old trees in richmond park----like entities unto themselves:
